It means so much to us that you are keeping
alive his memory, I know Si still looked back with great pride
of what he achieved with your club and still talked about it even
when he was in Iraq. In his dark hours in Iraq we talked at length
on the phone about the football he played and had a real buzz
about winning a week long tournament with the under 14's in Blackpool,
beating teams from Holland and Germany on the way and being picked
up by Cambridge at the same time. Then there was the runners up
trophy's he held aloft as captain of the under 16's (1998-99)
for the runners up in the premier league and the league cup -
- - - he still had ambitions of making as a pro on his return
from Iraq - - - sadly that was never to be.
He still won trophy's in Colchester prior to his deployment to
Iraq and also played for a local league side on a Saturday.(what
a money grabber)
1998/1999 simon was voted player of the season
as well as bieng the captain of his team.
